OSTR
Cancer Research Technology Program

The CCR Office of the Director has established CCR-dedicated core laboratories that are associated with the Cancer Research Technology Program (CRTP)

CRTP

The Cancer Research Technology Program (CRTP) leads scientific initiatives and provides technical solutions to meet the challenges of and carry out mission-driven biomedical research.  The CCR Office of the Director has established CCR-dedicated core laboratories that are associated with the Cancer Research Technology Program (CRTP) that can be accessed via the NCI at Frederick Accessioning System (NAS). The services are subsidized by CCR/OSTR.  For an outline of capabilities, available services, and contact information, click on the links below.

Single Cell Analysis

The rapid advancement of single-cell technology has provided new powerful tools to answer many biological questions, such as identifying new or rare cell populations and characterizing the complexities of tumor heterogeneity.

Sequencing Facility

The mission of the Center for Cancer Research Sequencing Facility (CCR-SF) is to utilize high-throughput sequencing technologies to enrich cancer research and ensure that the NCI community can leverage the leading-edge of Next-Generation Sequencing technology.

Genomics Technology Laboratory

The Genomics Technology Laboratory is an integrated, high-throughput molecular biology laboratory focusing on the development of genetics and genomics technologies, together with associated laboratory automation systems, data analysis, and information management tools.

Protein Expression Laboratory

The Protein Expression Laboratory develops, improves, and delivers protein-centric services. Our goal is to help client investigators achieve their research goals with the lowest possible cost in the shortest time. All PEL services are available individually as well as part of larger projects.

Protein Characterization Laboratory

The Cancer Research Technology Program (formerly the Advanced Technology Program) at NCI-Frederick has extensive expertise in protein expression, isolation, and characterization. For example, the Protein Characterization Laboratory is fully equipped with state-of-the-art mass spectrometry and other protein detection instrumentation.

Electron Microscopy Laboratory

The EML provides Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) services as well as expertise in the following specialized areas: Immunoelectron microscopy, cryo-electron microscopy, negative stain analysis, ultrastructure analysis, and virus particle characterization.

Center for Molecular Microscopy

At the Center for Molecular Microscopy (CMM), we develop and utilize new techniques and emerging technologies for high resolution 3-D electron microscopy in structural biology (high resolution imaging) and cell biology (volume EM).

Optical Microscopy and Analysis Laboratory

OMAL provides the Center for Cancer Research (CCR) with cutting-edge fluorescence microscopy (confocal and super-resolution) for answering cancer and HIV biology research questions.
