EML hosts a bimonthly webinar series: BioEMTalks. These webinars discuss current biological EM techniques, instrumentation and research. Find out more about BioEMTalks HERE.
EML offers on-demand one-on-one EM technique training including negative staining, immunogold labeling and instrument operation. Contact the Head of EML, Dr. Hsia, for details of these training opportunities.
For more comprehensive training, EML also offers two-day intensive minicourses on one or a set of EM techniques such as ultramicrotomy and cryo-ultramicrotomy. The two-day courses include lectures, instrument demonstrations and hands-on practices. The attendees will not only learn the practical skills and operation of a given instrument but also the underlying principles and guidelines for troubleshooting. To maximize the learning experience, each of these minicourses only accepts up to six trainees. In general, minicourses are offered once a year. Inquire for the dates of minicourses planned for the coming year.
If you are interested in becoming proficient in a wider range of biological EM techniques and their applications in cancer research, you can apply to work as an intern or visiting scientist at EML for extended periods of time. Contact the Head of EML, Dr. Hsia, for more information.
