Hyperion XT – Suspension Mass Cytometry (CyTOF)

The MCC offers the CyTOF XT system from Standard BioTools, enabling highly multiplexed, high-dimensional single-cell proteomic analysis of dissociated cell populations. By combining metal-tagged antibody chemistry with time-of-flight mass spectrometry, the platform enables simultaneous quantification of 40+ protein markers per cell without spectral overlap or autofluorescence. Hyperion XT supports high-throughput, reproducible analysis across large sample cohorts and is well suited for deep immune profiling, detection of rare cell populations, and other high-parameter analyses that do not require spatial context. To maximize throughput and operational efficiency, MCC support for suspension mass cytometry is currently limited to ready-to-run samples. Investigators are encouraged to contact the core early to discuss project design, panel selection, sample requirements, and feasibility.

Hyperion XTi  – Imaging Mass Cytometry (IMC)

The MCC also offers the Hyperion XTi™ Imaging System, enabling highly multiplexed, spatially resolved proteomic analysis of intact tissues and cells. By combining metal-tagged antibody chemistry with laser ablation and time-of-flight mass spectrometry to preserve tissue architecture, Hyperion XTi allows simultaneous quantification of 40+ protein markers while maintaining spatial context. Hyperion XTi supports a wide range of sample types, including FFPE tissues and tissue microarray, fresh-frozen and fixed-frozen tissues, and cell smears. This platform enables multi-parametric analysis at single-cell and sub-cellular resolution, supports three-dimensional imaging, and can be integrated with RNAscope™ for combined protein and RNA detection.
